Exercise

In April I hit rock bottom. We were down in Atlanta, and we climbed Mt. Kennesaw with some friends. It was not a tough walk…a mile or so up a not really steep path. I could barely do it. I felt miserable. When we go to the top, I told Chris we were going to start going to the gym when we got home. So Chris and I have been going to the gym about 3 times a week since mid-April. Have I seen a difference? Some I guess. The cardiovascular stuff has improved a lot. I no longer feel like I’m gonna die after using the elliptical for 30 minutes. And my heart rate comes down to an acceptable level when I do my cool down. On the weight lifting/toning side, things aren’t so good. I seem to have hit a plateau that I can’t get out of. My legs are doing ok, but I still have absolutely no strength in my upper body. I kinda feel like there’s no point.

But I guess the overall fitness program must be working. The size 4 shorts I bought last summer are all to big now. Guess I’ll just have to go shopping again…
