Wow, Liz and I are so excited for you three! And feel so lucky that we're close enough to come see the little guy!

It's so wonderful that you have a healthy little boy. Perrin was very close to being named Nathan, so I love it!

And adjusting to things not going as planned during birth seems to be the norm. At least it was for our children. I hope the recovery is easy.

I can't wait to come meet Nate in person!

Hooray!!

I stopped back to show a friend at work the pictures, and the weight correction made me think of this:

Emma was 9+ lbs, and lost more than a pound in her first day (babies lose weight, but not usually that much). The nurse who realized it scared me with her reaction, and it all ended with the head of Pediatrics coming in to examine Emma. The end decision was that part of her weight was due to all the IV fluids I'd had during the 24+ hours of labor and the surgery, so it was natural for her to lose that quickly, and that if she'd lost a pound of her own weight she wouldn't have still looked healthy otherwise. (they also worried that the OR scale was off, and recalibrated every scale on the L&D floor just in case)

Just thought I'd share, so if that happens with Nate it might not be so scary for you.
