About 2AM last night the resident removed the prostaglandin because contractions were coming on quite rapid and strong (only 30 seconds apart at times, or continuing for several minutes). K was in a lot of discomfort and not much dilation was occurring. Since then, the contractions have settled into a more normal 1st-stage labor rhythm (pretty steady at 4-6 minutes) with a more moderate level. K was able to get out of bed and move around for a while this morning which was very welcome (trips to the bathroom don’t count). She’s been a bit light-headed and nauseous, but otherwise in good shape. She did very well working through the pain of the aggressive contractions last night, and is handling the current ones with relative ease.
Oh… and we’re still working on names between contractions.

If I hadn’t sent you a work related email, I wouldn’t have found out what you are going through right now. I am sorry! just ignor me.
Hope the pain will be over soon. Best wishes to you both!

Go, baby, go!
Glad things are more regular now.
Still working on names, eh? Joe’s sister was “Baby Girl Dugan” on her hospital birth certificate. Joe’s mom had it changed about a week later for her official birth certificate.

Hang in there–both of you! (Chris–I can’t tell you how much Todd did for me by just by being present and vigilant. Remember, you know Kristin better than anyone else there!)
